Bariatric (Weight Loss)

Bariatric surgery, also known as weight loss surgery, is a set of surgical procedures designed to help individuals with obesity lose weight and improve their overall health. These surgeries alter the digestive system to limit the amount of food that can be eaten and/or absorbed by the body. Bariatric surgery is usually considered when other methods of weight loss, such as diet and exercise, have not been successful in achieving significant and sustained weight loss.
Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass): This procedure involves creating a small pouch at the top of the stomach and connecting it directly to the small intestine. This limits the amount of food that can be consumed and reduces the absorption of calories and nutrients.
